About SAT Exam

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a general standardized test which is conducted with an intention to measure a high school student's readiness for college. It’s one of the mandatory tests conducted by the College Board in respective countries for admissions into undergraduate programmes.

Test Intro

The SAT test duration is total 3 hours.

SAT comes with an optional Essay Writing test alongside Math and Evidence-based Reading and Writing sections.

    • Objective-type questions
    • Total 154 questions
    • Reading: 52 questions - 65 minutes
    • Writing & Language: 44 questions - 35 minutes

    • 25 minutes for the No-Calculator section;
    • 55 minutes for the Calculator-allowed section

    • Duration is 65 minutes
    • 52 Multiple Choice Questions
    • Command of Evidence (10 questions)
    • Words in Context (10 questions)
    • Analysis (32 questions)
    • Passages or pairs of passages (literature, historical documents, social sciences, and natural sciences)

    Subject Tests - Writing

    • Duration is 35 minutes
    • 44 multiple–choice questions
    • Expression of Ideas (24 questions)
    • Standard English Conventions (20 questions)
    • Grammar, vocabulary in context, and editing skills

    Key Information

    • Results are available in 2-4 weeks
    • Passport is mandatory for applicants
    • Not recommended for those aged below 16 years
    • Non-restriction of gender, race, nationality or religion
    • Minimum. Eligibility criteria for attending SAT exam is for students to complete high school.
    • Each section of the SAT is scored on a 200 to 800 point scale.
    • Total SAT Score is 1600
