About GRE General Test
The GRE® General Test is a computer-delivered test that measures essential life skills such as verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills in three test sections - Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning.
Test Intro
The test is conducted online and lasts for about 3 hours 45 minutes. There are 6 sections, along with one unscored section, with a 10-minute break after three sections.
Test Format
The online exam enables the test takers to proceed back & forth in a section - to view, skip, review and edit answers as they progress in the test.

- Results are available in 10 to 15 days
- Passport is mandatory for applicants
- Not recommended for those aged below 16 years

- No Specific Academic Merit-based Criteria

- Scores for Verbal & Quantitative Reasoning sections are within the range of 130-170 with 1 point increments
- Scores for Analytical Writing Section are measured on a scale of 0 to 6 with half-point increments.
